Vets At Your Door

Hull based, veterinary end of life services at home, serving East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

About Us

Vets At Your Door was created from a deep understanding of how important our pets are to us. The decision of saying goodbye to a beloved companion is never an easy one, but when the time comes, we are here to provide a compassionate, dignified and peaceful passing in the comfort of your own home.

At home euthanasia allows your pet to be in their own surroundings, where they are less anxious, particularly for pets that are difficult to move. Additionally, more family members can be present, as well as other household pets, which in turn allows for faster healing after the loss of their friend. You are able to grieve for your pet in peace, without having to worry about delays, transport or time constraints.

Vets At Your Door are local to Kingston upon Hull and are Members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. In addition, our principal surgeon has practiced in the area for over 10 years. Your appointment will be attended by a veterinarian and either an RVN or an assistant, depending on availability and size of pet. Occasionally, for very large dogs all three may be present.

A euthanasia appointment typically lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour. A consent form is signed and your aftercare wishes will be discussed. The first injection of a sedative will help your pet relax and become comfortable. The final injection is fast-acting, and takes effect in 30 to 60 seconds. After the procedure, the veterinarian will give you time alone with your pet. If you elect for aftercare, arrangements will be made for cremation. You have the option of having the ashes returned to you in a casket/scatter tube or for them to be scattered at the crematorium. Special urns, caskets or keepsakes, can be facilitated upon discussion.
